In Louisville, Kentucky, following the dismissal of charges against professional golfer Scottie Scheffler, the officer central to the case, Detective Bryan Gillis, released a statement. Expressing gratitude towards Scheffler for his conduct throughout the ordeal, Gillis highlighted the absence of animosity moving forward.

However, Gillis contested assertions made by Scheffler's prominent attorney, Steve Romines, particularly regarding the circumstances of the arrest. Gillis reaffirmed his account, emphasizing the physical altercation and injuries sustained during the incident.

Romines also commented on Scheffler's decision not to sue the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), citing potential burdens on taxpayers. He maintained Scheffler's innocence and victimhood in the matter.
