Mamie Laverock, a 19-year-old actress recognized for her portrayal of Rosaleen Sullivan in multiple episodes of the Hallmark Channel series "When Calls the Heart," is currently on life support after falling five stories from a balcony walkway, as reported by a GoFundMe page set up by her family.
Following a two-week stay in intensive treatment at the hospital due to a medical emergency, Laverock was reportedly escorted out of a secure hospital unit and onto a balcony walkway, from which she fell five stories, sustaining life-threatening injuries. Her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton, shared on the fundraiser page that she has undergone multiple extensive surgeries and remains on life support, expressing their devastation and shock during this challenging time.
According to the GoFundMe campaign, Laverock's mother rushed to Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11 to assist her daughter with the medical emergency, ultimately playing a crucial role in saving her life. Laverock was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, with her parents initially uncertain about her recovery but grateful for signs of improvement.
Hallmark Media responded to the tragic accident with a statement expressing deep sadness and extending wishes of peace, comfort, and prayers to Laverock and her family, acknowledging her as a beloved member of the "When Calls the Heart" community.
Laverock fell from the balcony on May 26, over two weeks after her initial hospitalization, although the specifics of her medical emergency remain unclear.
As of now, the fundraiser has garnered over $14,500 in support of Laverock's recovery.
Laverock's co-stars from "When Calls the Heart" have rallied behind her on social media. Erin Krakow shared the GoFundMe link on her Instagram, urging others to donate if possible. Johannah Newmarch and Loretta Walsh also joined in, emphasizing the importance of support for Laverock and her family during this heartbreaking time.
