ROG Ally X, its upcoming handheld gaming PC

Apart from the newly added features, the ROG Ally X operates on the Windows 11 operating system and utilizes the same AMD Z1 Extreme CPU processors as its predecessor, along with RNDA 3 AMD Radeon graphics. It maintains the 7-inch LCD display capable of supporting up to 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, complete with AMD FreeSync Premium support.

Despite these enhancements and previous revelations, it's essential to note that the ROG Ally X isn't a direct sequel to the ROG Ally, but rather an upgraded iteration of its original design. However, Asus has previously hinted at plans to develop a more potent version of the ROG Ally in the future.

In a review of the Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme model, my colleague Robert Anderson commented, "The ROG Ally has the potential to pose a significant challenge to the Steam Deck. While not without its flaws, there are numerous impressive aspects to this robust new handheld."

The Asus ROG Ally X is now available for pre-order at a retail price of $799.99. Interested buyers can place their orders through Best Buy. For additional details on the ROG Ally, feel free to explore our hands-on preview.
